I Can Wait Forever--- Unconditional Love

• If you had to choose a theme song for LaMB, which song would you choose, which band would you have perform it and why?

I believe that the song "I Can Wait Forever" by Simple Plan is a very appropriate theme song for LaMB. I Can Wait Forever has a great beat that's really "in" especially among teens. I really love the song and its lyrics definitely fit into the Love story between Eve and Jack.

In my opinion, the song is interpreted this way. (I'll state what my interpretation means per stanza. Enjoy^_^):

When you're sitting there it's hard for me to look away
So I try to find the words that I could say
I know distance doesn't matter but you feel so far away

This stanza tells us how Jack feels every time he sees Eve, and how Eve wants to be with Jack. It shows us that Jack loves Eve a lot, but maybe he's a bit hard up in showing it. I believe the phrase "you feel so far away" tells us that because Eve is laminated he does not fully feel her presence. He can't see her smile, eat talk or laugh. . And although Eve is physically near Jack she still seems distant because she has been laminated. Eve on the other hand also feels far away from Jack because of her condition. Eve does not even have the sense of touch. Her "heart turns gray" meaning she sometimes looses hope when Jack isn't with her. She always wants to see Jack. Clearly, they both want to be together.

This stanza means that Jack and Eve want to always be together. But because of rules in planet Cerra, they don't always stay together.Jack is a scientist and Eve is a LaMB so this means though they might see each other often, they still are far apart since they live differently. They most likely think about each other all the time. Though they are apart because they live separate lives,they are united because of the eternal bond of true love.

There's nothing else that I can do

This part means again that they both will wait forever until their dreams of Eve becoming "de-laminated" will be fulfilled. The "price" in the phrase "The price I gotta pay" is most likely Lamination. Lamination is the punishment of Eve for accidentally killing people. But when Eve thinks about "coming back home to feel Jack's touch," it makes her have hope deep inside of her. She has to be patiently waiting "till that day" when she gets to be freed from lamination.

The chorus means their unending love for each other. It's so heart wrecking for both of them to live with out really talking with each other and it is possible that society will not like their relationship. Even under these circumstances, both Jack and Eve will wait for the time when Eve becomes free from lamination, her prison. Jack would do everything he can to help Eve get "de-laminated", and Eve would be patient in waiting for the moment where she gets freed. They both will wait forever until freedom is accomplished.

I am very convinced that the song by Simple Plan is the best song that fits the love story of Jack and Eve. It's lyrics plus its beat totally match the LaMB story. Besides, most of the viewers of LaMB would be the youth and i'm sure they would be able to relate with this great modern song and its "rockin'" beat.

Hopefully LaMBs' ending would be a happy one so Jack and Eve won't need to wait forever before Eve gets freed from lamination. In the mean time, I'll be waiting for the LaMB movie to come out. Go Simple Plan! Go LaMB!
